In Assam, two suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants were killed in an encounter with the Army in Gopchar village under Goreswar police station in Baksa district last night. Some arms and ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from the slain militants. The militants are yet to be identified. Meanwhile, the North East Frontier Railway has made an appeal to the abductors of two loco drivers – Ajit Chiring Phukan and Nirmal Chandra Buragohain for their early release on humanitarian ground. Both of the loco drivers were abducted by suspected NDFB militants from Balipara – Bhalukong section, bordering Arunachal Pradesh, on 29th of last month when they were on duty.
