In Assam, an extremist belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) was killed in joint operation of Army and police personnel in Kokrajhar district of state on Wednesday. According to official sources, acting on a tip-off about the presence of three NDFB extremists in the district, a joint operation was launched by the Army and police. <br/><br/>An encounter ensued in which an extremist belonging to the anti-talk faction of the outfit was killed while two others managed to escape. A 9 mm pistol with live ammunition and a Chinese-made grenade was recovered from the slain extremist.<br/>
