NDA meets PM; demands Karnataka Governor’s recall

The National Democratic Alliance, NDA, led by senior BJP leader L. K. Advani today met the Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at his residence and demanded recall of Karnataka Governor H.R. Bhardwaj for alleged unconstitutional acts.Briefing mediapersons following his meeting Mr. Advani said that he has also asked the Prime Minister to reject the recommendation of the Governor for imposition of President's rule in the state.The Karnataka Governor has sent his recommendations to the President for imposition of President's rule in the state after the Supreme Court quashed the disqualification of 11 BJP and five independent legislators by the speaker of the Karnataka assembly in October last year.Meanwhile, the Karnataka BJP Legislature Party adopted a resolution at a meeting describing Bhardwaj's recommendation as politically ill-motivated and against the spirit of the Constitution. They also demanded to convene the assembly session on second of June.Senior party leader M Venkaiah Naidu said that the legislators will be paraded before President Pratibha Devisingh Patil in New Delhi tomorrow to expose the Governor's anti-democratic act.
