NDA Govt's 9 years: Central Vista Project and the Kartavya Path

<span style="color: #222222;">On completion of the NDA Government's nine years in office, Akashvani News brings you a series of special stories on the initiatives taken by the Government. <br />”<br />”Today, we take a look at the ambitious 'Central Vista Project and the Kartavya Path':<br />”<br />”The Central Vista Project currently functions as the organisational centre of our nation as it houses the most important administrative institutions of the country including Prime Minister's Office. An ambitious project undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government with rigour, was planned and executed to ensure environmental sustainability, expanding Public Space and extending the Central Vista Axis.<br />”<br />”The master plan for the project had proposed the construction of a new Parliament Building for independent India, Modification to Kartavya Path previously known as Rajpath, a Common Central Secretariat, setting-up of the National Museum, the National Archives and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Art besides conservation and rejuvenation of cultural and heritage facilities in and around the area.&nbsp; The Central Vista Development/Re-Development Project has also been envisaged by integrating the principles of transit-oriented development. &nbsp;<br />”<br />”The 'Kartavya Path' which extends from the Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate is one of the most visited tourist places in Delhi and has become a centre of attraction post modification under the Central Vista re-development plan. The Kartavya Path comprises of three kilometre long tree-lined stretch from the Viceroy's House to All India War Memorial, flanked by green spaces and water channels. &nbsp;<br />”<br />”Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the modifications at the Kartavya Path as a continuous struggle for the freedom of man from the enslaved mindset. So far, the Central Vista Project has seen the inauguration of the New Parliament Building, Modification of the Kartavya Path as well as completion of few other projects. However, it is expected that the Project when completed in full, will certainly go a long way in strengthening the governance infrastructure within the country.&nbsp;</span><br />
