Union Minister for Rural development and Panchayat Raj Chaudhry Birender Singh today said that the NDA government has transformed MGNREGA as its implementation during the previous UPA government was not right. <br/><br/>Talking to media in Bhopal, he said that beneficiaries had lost interest in the scheme and total mandays were reduced. Mr. Singh said that the NDA government made the scheme foolproof and results are good. <br/><br/>He said that now 235 crore mandays have been generated and implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer and Electronic Fund Management System has given results. <br/><br/>The Minister said that the Narendra Modi government has planned to double the income of the farmers. This step will boost the Indian economy. The Economy will cross the double digit after achieving this target. Mr. Singh said that the inflation has reduced in several areas.
