MoS (Independent charge) for Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Jitendra Singh said, that north-east is key region for India's act east policy and the NDA government is taking all necessary steps for the development of this region. <br/><br/>He was speaking as chief guest in an international seminar on the subject 'Economic dependence of northeast India and its bordering nations' organised by Assam University in Silchar.<br/><br/>The Minister further said, the government is focusing from broad gauge train to air connectivity in the northeast region as connectivity is the important factor for economic development and growth. <br/><br/>He said, small airports and chopper services within the region will be the ultimate solution because intra-regional connectivity is more important than inter-state connectivity particularly in such a difficult terrain. <br/><br/>Academic experts from USA, Bangladesh and many other countries are also taking part in this two days seminar.
