NDA government has brought down the time taken for obtaining environmental clearance for projects to 190 days, from the 600 days during the UPA rule. Stating this at a press conference in Pune last evening, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said the Centre's aim is to further reduce this period to 100 days.<br/><br/>Mr. Javadekar claimed that Narendra Modi Government has approved hundreds of development projects in the last 21 months by striking a balance between environment protection and development. <br/><br/>The Minister assured that the Government will not just provide ease of doing business, but it will provide ease of doing responsible business without any delay, assured the Minister. He also informed that funds of 40 thousand crore rupees lying in the bank will be used for afforestation.
