NDA govt has accorded extensive focus on accelerated development of North East: Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Rural Development, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has said the NDA government has accorded extensive focus on accelerated development of the North East. She said the central government headed by PM Modi has given maximum focus to link the whole country by road, electricity, drinking water, rail and telecom. Citing the statement of PM Modi, she said that the NDA government is committed to village, poor, farmers and labourers. On the last leg of her three-day visit to Mizoram,  Sadhvi Jyoti was addressing the media in Aizawl today.<br />''<br />''She said that over two crore rural families in the country have been provided pucca houses under PM Awas Yojana Gramin. About 10 crore gas connections have been provided so far. Similarly, financial support of Rs. 6000 annually is being provided to each eligible farmer.<br />''<br />''She said that the country set an example by providing free ration to 80 crore people during the pandemic and free vaccine to every eligible person of the country. These performances have taken the world by surprise as to how a vast country has been able to do this.<br />''<br />''Referring to the developments in Mizoram, Smt Jyoti said that the rail linking work in the state is going on with higher speed. Under MNREGA, the Centre has provided Rs. 298 crore to this state since 2016, which helped provide temporary jobs to the rural people. Also, in the last eight years, the Centre has provided Rs. 41.70 crore for empowerment of the women self-help groups.<br />''<br />''The Minister today chaired a review meeting with the officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Food Corporation of India (FCI) and Bureau of Public Distribution of Indian Standards (BIS). The Minister also visited the aspirational district Mamit on Wednesday and held a review meeting with the officials of the district administration.</span>
