Amid the Prime Minister's hints at the crackdown on benami properties, BJP today said, it will be a logical step in addition to demonetization to check the generation of black money. <br/><br/>Talking to AIR, BJP spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal said, the Benami Transaction Act, which was passed 24 years ago, has been notified by the Narendra Modi government last year. <br/><br/>He said, under the Act, those possessing benami properties will be prosecuted and properties will be confiscated.<br/><br/>Mr. Agarwal said, demonetization has given a strong message that NDA government will not tolerate corruption and black money and will go to any extent to curb them. <br/><br/>He said, both the note ban and the GST have broken the backbone of corruption nexus which existed in the economy.<br/> '<br/>The BJP spokesperson attacked the opposition for questioning the note ban and GST saying those who are hiding black money are targeting the government.
