Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said NDA government is committed to empower minorities socially, economically and educationally. He said, his Ministry is moving forward with this commitment successfully. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Mr Naqvi said after many years government had increased nearly 10 percent in budget for Minorities.<br/><br/>He said this year's budget allocation for Minorities is 4,196 corers rupees as against last year's 3,827 corer rupees. The Minister informed that 2,600 corer rupees will be spent on scholarships, fellowship and skill developments schemes like Nai Manzil, Nai Raushni, Seekho aur Kamao, Ustaad, Pre-metric and Post-metric scholarship and many more. <br/><br/>Mr Naqvi said this year government has increased the quota for Indian Haj pilgrims and 35 thousand more pilgrims will go for Haj. He said government had formed a Committee to reform the Haj Policy . He said his Ministry will hold Hunar Haat in New Delhi from 11th to 26th of this month. Mr Naqvi said, the exhibition will be an amazing gathering of artisans from every corner of the country. <br/><br/>The Minority Affairs Minister also said, these talented artisans and craftsmen from far-flung areas of the country are being provided an opportunity to showcase their skills at national-international level under one roof.
