National Democratic Alliance today passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his outstanding address at Davos in World Economic Forum and for his initiative to invite Heads of ASEAN countries for the Republic Day ceremony as chief guests. <br/><br/>The resolution was passed during the BJP-led NDA meeting held at Parliament House. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters after the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said, Mr Modi's presence at the World Economic Forum was not only an acknowledgment of India's growing strategic profile in the world but also provided a platform to share its future engagement with international community. <br/><br/>Mr Kumar said, it was a historic occasion that Heads of all the ten ASEAN countries not only attended the India- ASEAN Commemorative Summit but also witnessed the Republic Day Parade.<br/> <br/>Sources said, Mr Modi also asked NDA leaders to works towards creating an environment in favour of holding simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls during the meeting. <br/><br/>BJP President Amit Shah, Union Ministers and senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj were among those attended the meeting. <br/><br/>The leaders of NDA allies including Shiv Sena, JD (U), Telugu Desam Party, Shiromani Akali Dal and Apna Dal were also present.<br/><br/>Ahead of the NDA meeting, BJP Parliamentary Party Executive Meeting was also held at Parliament house.
