<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The National Commission for Women NCW has taken suo moto cognisance of a media post on women getting pregnant in West Bengal jails. It was reported in a English Daily that 196 births took place in jails which thoroughly lacked medical infrastructure. In a social media post, the Commission said, an inquiry committee headed by Member of the Commission Delina Khongdup was formed to look into the matter. The Commission said, the committee took into account findings about the case, visited Dumdum correctional home and met DGP of West Bengal regarding this.</p>
