NCW issues notice to Ramdev for his honeymoon remarks against Rahul Gandhi

The National Commission for Women has issued notice to Ramdev for his controversial honeymoon remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Taking suo motu cognizance of media reporters, the Commission asked him to clear his stand within three days. In its notice, the Commission said, Ramdev's statement is of serious concern and shows his insensitivity towards Dalit women.

Talking to reporters Chairperson of the Commission Mamta Sharma said, if Ramdev doesn't reply within the specified time, the Commission will summon him.

At a function in Lucknow last Friday, Ramdev had said that Rahul Gandhi goes to Dalit houses for picnics and honeymoon. His remarks were strongly condemned by different political parties and organizations. FIRs have been lodged against him at various places and the Election Commission has banned his Yoga camps in Lucknow, Raie Bareli, Amethi and Kangra and Chamba districts of Himachal Pradesh.
