NCW helps 896 pregnant women across country under its 'Happy to Help' campaign

<span style="color: #222222;">The National Commission for Women started a campaign 'Happy to Help' during the surge in COVID-19 cases. The Helpline which was started on 29th April has helped 896 pregnant women across the country. The State Commissions too were involved in making the helpline a success. Speaking to All India Radio News, NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said that in future too they will help women in distress.</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, since the&nbsp; launch, a group of 40 people have been working together to manage different requests received on the helpline, including arranging oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, plasma, and delivering medicines to the patients. The helpline number is 9354954224.&nbsp;</span><br />” <br />” <span style="color: #222222;">The helpline was started with NCW team members but now several others, including social workers, doctors, influencers, celebrities, joined in to amplify the helpline's reach. NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said, many women came forward seeking help during the second wave.&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">NCW started a tele-consultation facility for women too and at present there are 20 doctors who provide tele-consultation services to women free of cost.</span><br />” &nbsp;<br />
