National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma on Tuesday criticized Bihar police for lackadaisical approach in the investigation of serious cases against women.<br />''<br />''Talking to media persons in Patna the Chairperson said progress in investigation of cases are in very bad shape.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''She said the proficiency, professionalism, approach and acumen of investigation officers (IOs) are very poor in the cases related to illegal trafficking, acid attack, and forcible abduction.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Mrs. Sharma made this observation after holding a public hearing in Bihar Police Headquarters in Patna.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''She also observed that the state police personnel are not gender sensitized and it was evident during public hearing.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The Chairperson said that she will write a letter to the state DGP regarding procedural lapses like forensic evidence collection, lack of people friendly approach during the investigation.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">She also said despite several restrictive guidelines acid is being openly available in the state.</span><br />
