National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) has today asked Ministry of External Affairs to settle the case of Devyani Khobragade former Deputy Consul General of India in New York at the earliest. The case is presently in the United States.<br/><br/>Mrs Khobragade was charged by U.S. authorities with allegedly committing a visa fraud and providing false statements in order to gain entry for an Indian woman to the US as her domestic help.<br/>In a press release, NCSC Vice-President Dr. Rajkumar Verka said commission acted on her father Uttam Khobragade's request and issued a notice to the ministry. <br/><br/>Two joint secretary level officers of the MEA, Vinay Mohan Kwatra and Munnu Mahawar appeared before Dr. Verka and apprised him of the present situation. Mr. Verka said the commission is satisfied with MEA's response.
