NCR Planning Board to assist Haryana in decongesting NCT

The National Capital Region Planning Board has assured all assistance to Haryana in its efforts to decongest National Capital Territory. Haryana Chief Secretary said that the state government is preparing a comprehensive Sub-Regional Plan of the National Capital Region (NCR) with perspective year 2031. Ms Gulati said that because 40 per cent the National Capital Region is in Haryana so development of NCR is important to state. She said the state government is implementing a number of social infrastructure projects in the region, especially in the areas of education and health. She said that four private universities had already been set up in this area; applications of five more universities are in pipeline.<br/>Meanwhile, NCRPB Member Secretary Noor Mohammad said 584 crore rupees are sanctioned for developmental works in NCR during this financial year. He, who held discussions with Haryana Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati in the second meeting of the Steering Committee at Chandigarh on Tuesday, said a corridor would also be developed along the counter-magnet towns of Ambala and Hisar in Haryana. Mr Noor Mohammad has also stressed the need for further accelerating the pace of developmental projects in the NCR. <br/>
