The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked the Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar to lodge an FIR against Maharashtra's former environment minister Aditya Thackeray for allegedly using minor children in the ''Save Aarey'' protest held on Sunday. In a letter, the Commission's Registrar Anu Chaudhary claimed that the act was in contravention of the Juvenile Justice (Care and protection of Children) Act, 2015 besides the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986. <br />''<br />''The letter further demands that the police commissioner identifies the children who participated in the protest and produces them before the Child Welfare Committee to record their statements. It added that an Action Taken Report along with a copy of FIR and statement of children may be shared with the Commission within three days of receipt of this letter. This was after the commission received a complaint in this regard by Dhrutiman Joshi, Legal Head, Sahyadri Rights Forum. <br />
