<span style="color: #222222;">NCP MP Supriya Sule has alleged prejudice on the part of Central Government for denying permission to the tableaux from the non-BJP-ruled Maharashtra and West Bengal for the Republic Day parade.<br />'' <br />'' In a tweet, Ms. Sule said the two states had played a key role in the freedom struggle and the decision to allegedly deny permissions to their tableaux was an "insult" of the people.<br />'' <br />'' She further said that Republic Day is India's festival and the Centre is expected to give representation to all the states.<br />'' <br />'' Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut also tweeted that Maharashtra's tableau has been a centre of attraction for past many years, wondering whether there was a political conspiracy behind the decision.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The defence ministry had, however, earlier said that a total of 22 proposals, comprising of 16 States/Union Territories and six from Ministries/Departments, have been shortlisted for participation in the Republic Day Parade 2020 after a series of five meetings. </span><br />
