NCP chief Sharad Pawar today came out in defence of senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal and accused the state government of misusing its power.<br/><br/>Chhagan Bhujbal's nephew and former MP, Sameer Bhujbal, was arrested late last night by the Enforcement Directorate under provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act after being questioned for six hours.<br/><br/>Addressing the media, Pawar said that the Bhujbal family is being targeted and the investigating agencies are being pressurised.<br/><br/>Stating that the complainant in the case belongs to a political party, Pawar alleged that the state government was misusing its power. He said that he has not seen such harassment in the last 40 years and it is a vindictive approach. He said that the same family was being raided again and again by the state agency and then national agency.<br/><br/>Pawar also said that Chhagan Bhujbal's decisions as PWD minister were that of the state Cabinet. He also asked the Bhujbal family to support the investigation agency and that they will provide all the details required.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, reacting to Sameer's arrest, Chhagan Bhujbal said that they are being harassed without any reason and the arrest has been made without any evidence.<br/><br/>The agency's action came days after the Bombay High Court on January 28 sought progress report on the case.
