NCP today attacked the Yadav trio for opposing the Women's Reservation Bill contending that those swearing by the ideals of socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia are not following the same. NCP General Secretary D P Tripathi told reporters in the capital that Lohia was a great votary of women's reservation. He said, one should ask Lalu Prasad and Mulayam Singh Yadav that if they are followers of Lohia why are they opposing the Women's Reservation Bill.

He also justified the summoning of marshals in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday to evict suspended members. Asked about Congress' criticism of NCP chief Sharad Pawar on the issue of price rise, he said it is wrong to contend that Pawar, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies, was alone responsible for the increase in prices of essential commodities. Mr Tripathi said the NCP would hold a two-day brainstorming session, the first of its kind, at Karla in Maharashtra on March 13-14 to discuss the future strategy of the party.
