The Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma urged the Centre and State Government to give more focus to strengthen the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the country.

Talking to reporters after addressing the NCC Republic day camp in New Delhi today, Admiral Verma said around 13 Lakhs cadets were in the country and there was a need to increase the number.

He, however, added that the Government had taken many steps in this direction. Lauding the NCC’s tremendous job in the nation building, he said the cadets are being groomed as the future leaders.
