The NCC Directorate Shillong has embarked on a pioneering project to conduct the first-ever sailing expedition in the entire North Eastern Region. The expedition covering a distance of 200 kilometres will commence with the flag off at Biswanath Chariali on 16th October and will end with flagging in at Pandu Port Guwahati on 25th October 2019 which will be presided over by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The purpose of this expedition on the same waters of Brahmaputra where the famous battle of saraighat was fought in 1671, is to rekindle the memories of the epic bravery of the sons of the soil of Assam by fostering a spirit of adventure amongst the youth.</span><br />
