The ruling National conference in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday stressed the need for finding out a solution of Kashmir issue through peaceful political means. The party working committee which met in Srinagar today to take stock of latest situation in the state adopted a resolution to this affect. The party also reiterated its stand that restoration of autonomy under constitution of India is a viable political solution to the problem.The meeting was chaired by Party president and union minister Dr Farooq Abdulla and was attended by all the senior leaders including chief minister Omar Abdulla. Briefing media after the meeting that lasted for several hours, Dr Farooq Abdulla said, the party urged for release of all political detainees. It expressed deep sorrow on the loss of precious human lives in the recent incidents and asked the government to provide adequate ex- Gratia relief to the affected families. In the meanwhile, situation in the valley today remained calm after Authorities lifted day curfew from Sopore and Baramula towns.
