In Chhattisgarh, three persons were killed and one injured in a powerful landmine explosion in the Bijapur district this afternoon. According to police sources, a team of officials including the Collector and the local MLA were returning from a programme under the on-going ‘gram suraj abhiyan’ of the state government, when the naxlaites triggered a landmine targeting the convoy.One of the vehicles came under the attack killing three persons on the spot near Tegdapalli under the Maded police station area. The District Collector and the MLA however escaped the attack. The deceased include one Panchayat representative, one political worker and the driver. The vehicle was completely damaged in the blast. The injured person has been admitted to the local hospital
