In Jharkhand, Naxals struck in two different districts today killing eleven security personnel and injuring 31 others. The injured are still being brought to different hospitals in Ranchi, Lohardagga and Bokaro. Our Ranchi correspondent reports, that around 12 noon today, the first encounter between two battalions of the CRPF and about 100 naxals took place at two spots in Balthrwa jungle of the Jhumra hill of Bokaro district, in which one Assistant Commandant of the CRPF J P Yadav was injured. IGP of North Chotanagpur Manoj Kumar Mishra said that the naxals are losing their grip and the firing was done out of frustration to show their presence.In the second incident, which took place around 1PM today in jungle areas under Senha police station in Lohardaga district, the naxals fired upon the security forces after triggering a long land mine blast. Eleven jawans of police and security forces have been killed and 31 policemen, including the officer in charge of the Senha police station, have been injured. The injured have been rushed to Lohardaga Sadar hospitals. The police have launched a search operation at both the places.
