In Chhattisgarh, Naxalites are reported to have abducted the district Collector of the newly formed Sukma district this evening. However there is no official confirmation of the incident as yet. According to sources he was returning from an official programme when motor-cycle borne Maoists intercepted him between Gadiras and Kerlapal of Sukma district in south Chhattisgarh.The naxalites are also said to have killed one guard accompanying the Collector on the spot and took him away to the jungle.
