In Chhattisgarh, Naxalites have abducted the district Collector of the newly formed Sukma district this evening. State Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar confirmed the incident while talking to reporters in Raipur today. The collector – Alex Paul Menon – was attending an official programme, when motor-cycle borne Maoists abducted him from near Majhipara between Gadiras and Kerlapal of Sukma district in south Chhattisgarh. The naxalites are also said to have killed two guards accompanying the Collector and took him away to the jungle. A high level meeting was held in the state capital following the kidnapping. A search is in by the Police to trace the abducted Collector.
