Naxal Attack: Over 1000 security personnel deployed in Chhatisgarh; NIA begins probe

In the wake of deadly naxal attack in Chhatisgarh, more than thousand security personnel have been pumped into jungle of the infestive Bastar region for a major offensive against the ultras.

DGP Ramniwas said that the police has received a tip off about the cadres responsible for the attack and assured early action. He said, a police jawan Pawan Kindro is missing and searches on to trace him in the jungles.

Meanwhile, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) has begun probe into the Chhattisgarh Maoist attack on Congress leaders which claimed 28 lives. The team reached Raipur Monday afternoon.

Former Union Minister V C Shukla who was injured in the Maoist attack is admitted in Medanta hospital in Gurgaon. His condition is stated to be critical but stable.

Congress on Monday organized a prayer meeting at the party headquarters in New Delhi in memory of its leaders and workers who lost their lives in the naxal attack in Chhattisgarh.

Party president Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, Union Ministers and senior party leaders were present in the meeting. They also paid floral tribute to the persons killed the attack.

On this occasion, Party General Secretary, Janardhan Dwivedi said that it’s difficult time for the party and the countrymen will have to take its serious note. He said partymen have grief and are also angry on the incident.
