A massive search operation has been launched to nab the Maoists and all the inter-state borders of Chhattisgarh have been sealed. Police stations across the Naxal affected districts of the state have been put on high alert. In a related development, all police stations and camps in West Bengal, especially in three Maoist-affected districts, were today put on high alert after the Naxal attack on security personnel in Chhattisgarh. The three Maoist-affected districts are West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.<br/><br/>In Andhra Pradesh, a red alert has been sounded across the state and security stepped up for Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, Ministers, MPs, and other VIPs in the wake of the Maoists ambush in Chhattisgarh yesterday. As part of the beefed up security, special attention has been given to those known to have been on the hit list of the extremists.<br/><br/>The check-posts and vulnerable points on the borders with other States, particularly Chhattisgarh, have been strengthened with deployment of Greyhounds, the anti-naxalite elite force, to prevent infiltration of Maoists. Police deployment has also been enhanced at the state Secretariat in Hyderabad and around important Government offices in districts, especially those bordering Orissa such as Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.<br/><br/>In Andhra Pradesh, state cabinet is meeting this evening in the back drop of the Maoists massacre in the neighbouring Chattisgad. A red alert has been sounded across the state while security has been beefed up to the Chief Minister, Ministers and all VIPs in the wake of the Maoists ambush in which over 70 CRPF personnel killed yesterday. <br/><br/>In Jharkhand, Political parties across the spectrum have urged the Shibu Soren government to take the Naxal attack in neighbouring Chhattisgarh seriously and step up anti-Maoist operations in the state. JMM spokesman Simond Marandi wondered why only 120 security personnel were sent to a Maoist stronghold like Dantewada.<br/><br/>
