Navy join efforts to prevent fuel spillage

The Navy has joined efforts to prevent fuel spillage from the grounded cargo carrier Nand Aparajita, off Kavaratti Island in Lakshadweep. The ship was carrying construction material from Agathi to Kavarathi island, when it got grounded in the ecologically sensitive coral reefs last Sunday. The Navy is providing assistance to the Coast Guard, by providing hoses and other expertise to pump out 20 tonnes of fuel from the grounded vessel.
