Navy Day is being observed today

Navy Day is being observed on 4th December every year to commemorate the sinking of Pakistan Naval Ship "PNS Ghazi" and India's victory over Pakistan in the 1971 engagement. Speaking on the occasion, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba today assured the nation that Navy is fully combat ready to protect country's maritime interest in Indian ocean. <br/><br/>Admiral Lanba, along with Army Chief Dalbir Singh, and Indian Air Force Chief Arup Raha paid tributes at Amar Jawan Jyoti in New Delhi. They also interacted with school children as part of celebrations for Navy Day.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his greetings to all members of the Indian Navy and their families on the occasion of Navy Day. In a tweet, Mr Modi said we cherish the vital role of the navy and salute the bravery of navy personnel.
