Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba will participate in International Multilateral Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (IMMSAREX) in Bangladesh from Sunday. <br/><br/>According to an official release, the visit aims to consolidate the bilateral naval relations between India and Bangladesh and to explore new avenues for naval cooperation. <br/><br/>Admiral Lanba will also hold bilateral discussions with his Bangladeshi counterpart and other participating chiefs of navy and maritime agencies on Monday. He will also present War Memorabilia to Liberation War Museum of Bangladesh. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent says, the exercise is being held under the aiges of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS). Indian Navy started IONS in 2008 which now has 23 nations as member and 9 countries as observer. <br/><br/>Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the exercise on Monday in Cox Bazar. Indian Naval Ships Ranvir, Sahyadri, Gharial and Sukanya along with one Maritime Patrol Aircraft P-8I will take part in the exercise.
