Indian Navy has asked its top commanders to closely monitor the training of naval personnel and sharpening of their skills. This is to maintain highest state of readiness to meet unforeseen challenges and to ensure proper execution of the tasks and missions. This was emphasized by Navy Chief Admiral Nirmal Verma while taking stock of the naval preparedness during the four day-long Naval Commander's Conference in New Delhi. He said close monitoring will help timely completion of the ongoing projects and prevent cost over runs. AIR correspondent quoting defence sources reports that it has been decided to pay special attention to the ongoing projects at forward naval bases in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tuticorin and the Naval Air Enclaves.The commanders also discussed the induction and integration of aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya in the Navy by next year.
