Navratri – the festival of Raas, Garaba and Dandiya begins in Gujarat from Thursday evening. The festival is also marked with worshiping Ma Ambe- the Goddess of Shakti in the state. AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that tight security arrangements have been made in view of possible terror threat. In Himachal Pradesh, the security arrangement has been beefed up for the navratra fairs across the state at various temples. The government is keeping a vigil on the good carriers. It has also restricted travelling by trucks and other goods carriers.The revered festival of Navratra begins today across the country. Lasting for a period of nine days, the festival is dedicated to Goddess Shakti. In the national capital, elaborate arrangements have been made to celebrate the Navratra festival. All major and small temples in Delhi have been decorated with colourful lights. As the Commonwealth Games coincide with the festival, the famous Chhatarpur temple, Jhandewalan, Malai Temple and Biral Temple have become the place of attractions for people.. Delhi Police has aslo made strict arrangements of security across the city to thwart any untoward incident.
