Naval Chief launches phase-II of Married Accommodation Project

The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Nirmal Kumar Verma on Monday laid the foundation stone of the phase two of the Married Accommodation Project for officers and sailors at Panampally Nagar in Kochi. The project involves the construction of 328 houses at a cost of 109 crore rupees and is expected to be completed in two years. The Naval Chief later visited the Cochin Shipyard, and reviewed the progress of the country's first indigenous aircraft carrier being built there.Earlier on his arrival, Admiral Nirmal Kumar Verma was received at the Cochin Naval Airport by the Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command Vice Admiral K N Sushil and other senior officers of the Navy. On Tuesday, Admiral Verma will leave for Coimbatore. He will return on Tuesday itself and leave Kochi on Wednesday.
