Overcoming differences among its 28-member nations, the NATO has agreed to take the lead role in enforcing the no-fly zone over Libya. NATO Secretary General, Andres Fogh Rasmussen said that, all NATO allies are committed to fulfill the UN Resolution, and that's why they have decided to assume responsibility for the no-fly zone over Libya. Rasmussen said, the objective is to protect civilians by closing the air space for all flights, except aid flights. He said, the force will also act in self defence. In an interview to a TV channel he also said that, no decision however has been made on whether the NATO should take on broader responsibility.
