In the 35th National games being held in Kerala,Sandeep Sejwal of Madhya Pradesh won gold in the 200 metres swimming breast stroke, with a meet record. Kerala's Anoop Augustine and S Arun secured silver and bronze respectively.In the 800 metre women's free style, Aakanksha Vora of Maharashtra won gold medal with a meet record. Kalyani Saxena of Gujarat struck gold in the 200 metres breast stroke.Kerala's Sajan Prakash achieved the rare feat of securing triple gold,by winning the 1500 metre freestyle swimming with a games record.This is his third individual gold in the Games.Services team won five gold medals in different categories of rowing competitions held at the backwaters of Alappuzha. In the women's rowing, Kerala today won one gold and three silver medals.Meanwhile, in a tragic incident,Maharashtra's netball player Mayuresh Pawar died,while posing for photographs with his friends at the Shanghumugham beach in Thiruvananthapuram.His body will be taken to his native place by air tomorrow. Indian Olympic Association President N Ramachandran has condoled the demise of Mayuresh Pawar.
