Paul has said that country has achieved a significant milestone by administering over 125 crore COVID vaccine doses to the beneficiaries so far. He said, more than 84 per cent adult population have been administered first dose whereas 49 per cent adults have been administered second dose.<br />''<br />'' In a media briefing today on COVID-19 situation in the country, Dr. Paul said, Nationwide Vaccination Campaign 'Har Ghar Dastak' have made positive impact in increasing the vaccination coverage across the country. He stressed on the need for the extensive coverage of vaccination saying that our priority is to complete the task of vaccinating all adults with both doses.<br />''<br />'' On the Omicron variant of COVID-19, Dr. Paul said, it is being carefully examined and will take decisions on the basis of it. He stressed on the need of testing, survillence, tracking and tracing of incoming international travelers. He said, hosptial infrastructure must be strengthened. Talking about the booster dose, he said, scientific reasoning for providing boosters at what timing, for which vaccine, all that is under examination.<br />''<br />''Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research Balram Bhargava said, two cases of Omircron detected in Karnataka through genome sequencing effort of INSACOG consortium of 37 laboratories.
