A national workshop begins in New Delhi today to devise an effective mechanism for development of 60 naxal affected districts across the country. An amount of 30 crore rupees will be given to each district for holistic development of these areas. Previously 25 crore rupees were being allocated for the same.

Home Minister P Chidambaram will inaugurate the first of its kind workshop. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will also address the event where district collectors from the selected region will share their views on evolving development strategies and reducing naxalism.
