National women chess championship will be held at Sangli in Maharashtra from October 25 to November 5. Organized by All India Chess Federation, Maharashtra Chess Association and Sangli District Chess Association, the competition will have a total prizes of six lakh rupees. The event is being organised in Sangli for the first time.National and international chess grand masters including Nisha Mehta, Mery Anna Gomes, Vijaylaxmi Subramhanyam, Hinduja Reddy, Padmini Raut, Bhakti Kulkarni, Ivana Furado, Swati Ghate, Laxmi Pranita, Nimi George, V Varshina and others will participate in the 12-day event.
