Odia women weightlifters brought laurel to the state in the Senior National weightlifting championship, which concluded at Berhampur on Wednesday. However, male participants from the state exhibited a disappointing show.<br/><br/>The women weightlifters from Odisha including Tikina Gopal and Minati Sethi bagged three gold medals each in the five-day national meet, Sita Jena bagged two golds. While Gopal and Jena represented Odisha, Sethi was from Railways.<br/><br/>There were 15 participants from Odisha including eight men and seven women in the national meet. <br/><br/>Gopal and Sethi bagged three gold medals in 53 kg and 58 kg category respectively, whil Jena narrowly defeated Rajwant Kaur of Punjab to retain two gold medals in clean andjerk and total in 63 kg women's category.<br/><br/>Commonwealth Games gold medalist K.Ravi Kumar did not participate in the event due to illness.
