<span style="color: #222222;">The  10th National Voters' Day has been  celebrated on 25th Jan . It was celebrated at over ten lakh locations across the country including Polling Stations, District and State headquarters. The theme this year is 'Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy'.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #333333;"><br />'' It sets the tone for year-long activities focusing on voter education and renewal of citizens' faith in the electoral process. The Day is celebrated since 2011 to mark the Foundation day of Election Commission of India, which was established on 25th January 1950.<br />'' <br />'' President Ram Nath Kovind was the Chief Guest at the 10th National Voters' Day function organized by Election Commission at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi earlier today. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the nation on the occasion.<br />'' <br />'' In a tweet, he expressed gratitude to Election Commission of India for its efforts towards making the electoral process more vibrant and participative. He hoped that this day will inspire everyone to work towards increased voter awareness and turnout. <br />''  <br />'' In Manipur Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur organized the 10th National Voters' Day was organized to spread awareness among the youths to cast their votes to a responsible person and participate in the development of the country.<br />'' <br />'' The observation function was attended by Manipur Chief Secretary, Dr. J. Suresh Babu, CEO Manipur P.K. Singh, Manipur DGP L.M. Khaute and other state top civil and police officers.<br />'' <br />'' During the function, state awards were distributed to selected ROs, DEOs, AROs, EROs and BLOs for their contribution in election related activities. An exhibition related to election process was showcased and also took Nation Voters' Pledge.<br />'' <br />'' Meghalaya joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 10th National Voters' Day at Shillong and other parts including Tura and Ampati in the Garo Hills.<br />'' <br />'' The main function was held at Asom Kristi Kendra, Shillong where Chief Secretary, MS Rao along with Chief Electoral Officer, FR Kharkongor and others graced the occasion.<br />'' <br />'' As part of the celebration, EPIC cards were given to several newly enrolled voters. Later, prizes were also given to the winners of National Voters Day run which was held in the city this morning.<br />'' <br />'' In Ladakh, the biggest Celebration of the 10th Voters Day was held at Drass in Kargil, the second coldest inhabited Place in the world. Hundreds of youth participated in the programme despite snowfall and bone chilling cold condition.<br />'' <br />'' The programme was inaugurated by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Baseer Ul Haq Chowdhary at Government higher Secondary School. Mr Haq said that choosing Drass for the mega celebration of Voters Day is to show the importance of a voter in the democratic setup of India and to show that every voter counts and electoral literacy for stronger democracy.<br />'' <br />'' He appreciated the Team of Sveep Kargil for a wonderful event despite minimum temperature of minus 32 and urged upon the youths who are 18 or approaching 18, to register their name in the Voter List.<br />'' <br />'' The team of Snow Sculptor made a dragon, Logo of ECI and other sculptures out in snow, which was the main attraction of today's event.<br />'' <br />''DC also administered Pledge for National Voters Day.</span>
