The National Sports Development Bill is likely to come for the consideration of the Union Cabinet today. Official sources said in New Delhi that the proposed legislation aims to usher in transparency and accountability in sports federation across the country. Under the bill, all sports federations will be treated as public entities and sportspersons will have a 25 percent representation in running the affairs of the federations with voting powers. Sources said that the bill proposes to bring the Indian Cricket Board, the BCCI under its ambit. The proposed draft suggests two terms of four year each and an age limit of 70 years for all office bearers.
