<span style="color: #222222;">The National Soil Health Card scheme is helping farmers apply fertiliser according to the health of their soil. A study by the National Productivity Council says that the application of Soil Health Card has led to a decline of around 10 percent in use of chemical fertilisers and raised productivity by six percent.<br />'' <br />'' AIR Correspondent reports that the Soil Health Card scheme in Karnataka is helping farmers to know their soil type. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Soil Testing laboratories set up in each district of the state is analysing over two lakh soil samples every year and created a database of soil fertility in different regions. This has helped educate farmers about the use the fertilisers and take remedial steps to get maximum yield.<br />'' <br />'' It has also provided farmers with information on the use of micro-nutrients and cut input cost. The scheme has also provided employment to rural youths by providing them the opportunity to set up Soil Health Labs under Soil Health Management scheme. The Central and State governments provide 75 percent of funds to the youths for setting up such labs. </span><br />''
