National Service Scheme Awards, (NSS) were announced today. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, has been selected for the award of the best University at the state level. In the Upcoming University Category, the award is shared between Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh and University of Kashmir, Srinagar. Five Universities which have been selected for Certificate of Appreciation for their valuable contributions include, Andhra University, Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala, University of Mumbai,

Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, and University of Calcutta. Besides, thirty volunteers have also been selected for their dedicated and selfless services in NSS. National Service Scheme is one of the flagship programmes of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to
promote good citicizenship and spirit of volunteerism among the youth.
