National Seminar on ‘Women and Law – A Legal Insight’ kicks off

Supreme Court Judge Dr. Justice B.S. Chauhan says, making law is simply useless until means are available to implement them in true spirit. Inaugurating a two day long National Law Seminar on ‘Women and Law – A Legal Insight’ today at Allahabad he said proper education and awareness are needed to safeguard the women`s rights.

Underlining the adverse impact of surrogacy and female foeticide on the society he emphasised for strict laws against such practices. Highlighting the problems faced by the women in Rajasthan and other countries Justice Chauhan said that each and every member of the society is responsible to save the dignity and respect of women.

Addressing the function Justice Ashok Bhushan from Allahabad High Court talked about liberation of women from superstition, prejudice and that the State and other authorities should make efforts in eradicating illiteracy from the society.
