National Program for Development of Sports, in the form of Khelo India scheme, has received massive boost in allocation: Rathore

Sports Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore has said the Government's commitment towards sports and youth can be seen in increasing budgetary allocations to the ministry since the Modi government came to power. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi today, Mr Rathore said National Program for Development of Sports, in the form of revamped Khelo India scheme, has received a massive boost in allocation. <br/><br/>He said from 158 crore rupees in 2016-17, the allocation for the program stands at 575 crore rupees for 2018-19. The Sports Minister said Khelo India will see a massive push towards development and upgradation of sports infrastructure in the country.<br/> <br/>Mr Rathore said preparations for upcoming Commonwealth games, Asian games and Olympics are absolutely on track and whatever help sportspersons need will be provided. He said the government had announced a special package of 200 crore rupees for the development of sports and related infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
