National Press Day was celebrated today at Rajnivas, Puducherry. Lt. Governor Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan participated as Chief Guest and honoured the Senior Journalists with a shawl. <br />''<br />''In her special address, she complimented the role of the media in upholding democracy and felicitated all the journalists who participated in the programme. <br />''<br />'' She stressed the need for cordial relationships between Politicians and Media for better service to the people. She assured that she would take the initiative to celebrate National Press Day as a Government function next year. Lt. Governor in her speech emphasised that misinformation or fake news should not be disseminated to the public in any context. She advised the journalists to be fair and unbiased in reporting.
