Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad today said that the National Policy on Electronics 2019 aims at positioning India as a global hub for electronics System and Design and Manufacturing.<br />''<br />'' In reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, he said that the vision of the policy is to create an enabling environment for the industry to compete globally. &nbsp;<br />''<br />''Mr. Prasad said, the government has notified the policy in February this year. He also informed the House that in 2014 whereas only two mobile manufacturing companies were operational, now this number has gone up to 268. <br />''<br />''Mr. Prasad said, government also wants to make the country the hub of Start-Ups. He said, as many as 19000 Startups are in the country out of which seven thousand are in area of technology.<br />''<br />''<br />
